Stratis GPX
Doyle Stratis
For Grand Prix Race and Blue Water / Superyachts
Is our bespoke membrane construction for grand prix race and blue water / superyachts. Doyle pioneered this membrane construction with the introduction of D4 which was later acquired by one of the leading cloth manufacturers. With all the experience and expertise gained through many high profile race and superyacht contracts our loft in New Zealand set up the plant to produce STRATIS to meet the increasing demand for larger and higher loaded sail inventories. By being able to adapt the fibre load bearing arrays and trajectories to meet with specific distribution criteria, this sophisticated 3D computer aided design and automated aligned mapping technique has seen our product used in many very technically demanding projects.

Design
All our designing is carried out in the USA or New Zealand with data supplied by our sail consultants, who also project manager each order. By centralising this facility greater information on actual flying shapes, performance and fabric selection is logged and can be called upon for similar applications. By storing all our design moulds and being able to replicate with accuracy, has enabled consistency and greater understanding of the myriad of different boats, aspect ratios and fabric dynamics we come in contact with. Our head designer has been selected as sail design co-ordinator to one of the top America’s Cup syndicates and is ably supported by two Bachelor of Science engineers based at our principal loft in Salem, USA. Robbie Doyle is also very influential in design consideration and has a massive knowledge of fabric engineering which has been crucial in the success of the global company. Our design can be viewed in 3D and we run the latest analytical flow programs when developing sail inventories.
